Students Talk Back: The War on Poverty--50 Years and Fighting
Fifty years ago, President Lyndon B. Johnson declared a War on Poverty. The rate of poverty has dropped from 26% when the was was first waged to 16% today, but many argue that the war is far from won. Republican leaders Representative Paul Ryan and Senator Marco Rubio have put forth their own plan to restructure anti-poverty programs. President Obama highlighted income inequality and the minimum wage debate in his 2014 State of the Union Address.
In this video, Giuseppe discusses the impact of anti-poverty public works projects on unemployment, city pension liabilities, and the effective tax and wage structure needed to better respond to local concerns on income gap issues.

In this two-part episode (Part II shown above), Giuseppe discusses how the Affordable Care Act is a form of price-fixation and could potentially hinder competition. He clarifies insurance's role as a financial instrument, while proposing a new form of securitzation to improve risk management and overall coverage.
